Cricket betting at jetblue — from T20 to Test, the complete guide
Everything you need to know about betting markets, odds, and live in-play options for every BPL, IPL, and international cricket match. jetblue explains it all in plain language for cricket fans in Bangladesh.
Cricket formats and competitions — what is betting like in each?
People in Bangladesh do not just see cricket as a sport — it is an emotion. From offices in Dhaka to tea stalls in the village, everyone gets caught up in the excitement when the Tigers play. jetblue adds a betting dimension to that passion. To bet well, though, you need a solid understanding of the formats, because the nature of odds and markets differs in each.
T20 Cricket
In this 20-over format, the game can shift in an instant. In competitions like BPL and the T20 World Cup, odds move with every ball. A big six or a sudden wicket can turn the entire picture around. Live betting is most active in this format.
Fastest FormatODI Cricket
Strategy plays a bigger role in this 50-over format. ODIs are central to the ICC World Cup and bilateral series. The balance of run rate and wickets in the middle overs has a deep effect on betting markets. ODI betting is well suited for top batsman or total runs markets.
50 OversTest Cricket
This five-day format is considered the highest test of the game. A draw is a possible result here, so there are three options in the market — Team A wins, Team B wins, or draw. Odds shift gradually as pitch conditions, weather, and long innings all factor in. Test betting holds particular appeal for patient bettors.
Five-Day ContestBPL
The Bangladesh Premier League is our own franchise T20 league. With a mix of local stars and overseas players, BPL excitement runs high. At jetblue, multiple markets are available for every BPL match — from before the first ball right through to the last.
Home Ground HeatIPL and International Cricket
IPL is the most-watched T20 league in the world and is hugely popular with Bangladeshi fans too. The ICC T20 World Cup and Bangladesh's international series also bring active betting markets to jetblue. For football fans, jetblue football betting is available as well, but cricket gets the most markets here.
International LevelPopular cricket betting markets
Cricket betting at jetblue goes well beyond just picking the winner. Each match has dozens of different markets. The following are the most commonly used:
| Market | Simple explanation |
|---|---|
| Match Winner | Bet on which team will win the match. Two outcomes in T20 and ODI; three in Test (win, draw, win). |
| Toss Winner | Which team will win the toss — unrelated to the match result. A straightforward, short-term market. |
| Top Batsman | Which batsman from a team will score the most runs in an innings. |
| Total Runs Over/Under | Whether the total will go above or below a set number of runs — for example, over or under 160 in the first innings. |
| First Wicket Partnership | How many runs the two openers will put on together — bet using an over/under line. |
| Handicap Betting | A run advantage is given to the weaker team to level the match, and you bet on the margin with that adjustment applied. |
| Multi Bet (Parlay) | Combining bets from multiple matches — if all selections win, the return is much larger; if any one loses, the entire bet is lost. |
How to read odds — decimal, fractional and American
Three odds formats are available at jetblue. Each expresses the same probability in a different way. Here are two simple examples to explain:
Example 1 — ৳1,000 bet on Team A to win
Decimal 2.50, fractional 3/2 and American +150 all say the same thing. If you bet ৳1,000 and win, your total return is ৳2,500 (profit of ৳1,500 plus your ৳1,000 stake back). If you lose, the ৳1,000 is gone.
Example 2 — ৳1,000 bet on Team B (favourite) to win
Decimal 1.80, fractional 4/5 and American -125 means Team B is the favourite. A winning ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,800 (profit of ৳800). American minus odds tell you how much you need to bet to make a profit of 100.
In limited-overs formats (T20 or ODI) there is no draw, so there are usually two odds lines — Team A and Team B. In live betting these odds change at every moment.
Live in-play betting — the calculation changes with every ball
The jetblue live betting interface shows real-time scores and odds together.
Live in-play betting is the ability to place bets while a match is in progress. In cricket this is especially useful because odds change quickly as the pace of the game and events unfold. Below is an explanation of how odds move at different stages:
When a wicket falls
If a key wicket from the batting team falls suddenly, their odds of winning lengthen (because the probability drops), while the bowling team's odds shorten. Betting on the bowling team at that moment may offer relatively good value.
At the end of the powerplay
In T20, a high or low score during the first 6-over powerplay directly affects the odds for the rest of the innings. If a team's score is higher than expected, the odds on defending that total shorten.
The final-over battle
When the required run rate rises or falls in the last two or three overs, odds change the fastest. In T20, in-play markets are at their most active at this point.
Start of the second innings
Once the target is set, odds depend heavily on what happens in the first few balls of the chase. Two quick wickets or two boundaries can bring a significant shift in odds.
Cricket vs football betting — what is the difference?
While cricket is number one in Bangladesh, jetblue football betting also has a large following. There are some fundamental differences in how betting is structured between the two sports.
Cricket produces far more markets based on innings, overs, and wickets. In a T20 match, in-play odds can shift on each of the 120 balls across 20 overs. Football markets are comparatively straightforward — goalscorer, correct score, handicap. Cricket offers specific markets like top batsman, most sixes, or first-over runs that have no equivalent in football.
Test cricket allows three results including a draw, just like football. But in T20 or ODI there is no draw, so only two odds lines exist, which makes evaluating betting value somewhat simpler.
Useful tips for cricket betting
Betting is a form of entertainment — that is the main point. Rather than treating it as a source of income, enjoy it responsibly and within a set budget. Reading the responsible gaming guidelines is a good idea.
-
Know the format: Markets differ across T20, ODI and Test. Bet on the format you understand best. Odds in a five-day Test match shift slowly; in T20 they change ball by ball.
-
Set your budget in advance: Decide on a fixed amount before each betting session. Stop when that budget is used up. Do not increase your budget after a loss in an attempt to chase losses.
-
Be careful with multi bets: In a three-selection multi bet, all of them need to win. If one loses, the whole bet is gone. Fewer selections mean a lower return, but the chances of winning are higher.
-
Be patient in live betting: Odds change quickly at key turning points in a match. Rather than betting in a rush, take a moment to assess before making a decision.
-
Understand pitch and weather: Especially in Test and ODI, the type of pitch (spin-friendly or pace-friendly) and the weather have a big impact. Keep this information in mind when choosing a market.
-
Understand odds formats: At jetblue you can view odds in decimal, fractional or American format. Bet in the format you are familiar with and work out your potential return before placing the bet.
-
Multiple markets in one match: Besides match winner, markets like toss, top batsman or total runs are independent of each other. Losing in one market does not affect the outcome of another.
-
Review your betting history: Your jetblue account keeps a record of all your previous bets. Check it from time to time to understand your own patterns.
